SpeedTrest ("we", "our", "the site") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information is collected when you use SpeedTrest, how it is used, and your rights in relation to that information.
SpeedTrest does not require you to create an account, provide an email address, or submit any personal information to use the speed test tool.
When you visit SpeedTrest, our hosting provider may collect standard server log data including:
This data is standard to virtually all web servers and is not used to identify you personally. Log data is retained for a limited period for security and operational purposes and then deleted.
The speed test measures download speed, upload speed, ping, and jitter by exchanging data with Cloudflare's edge network. Speed test results are not stored on our servers. Your results exist only in your browser session and are gone when you close or refresh the page (unless you use the share feature, which copies results to your clipboard only).
After a test completes, SpeedTrest optionally queries a third-party geolocation API (ipapi.co) to display your approximate ISP name and location. This is a client-side request made from your browser to that service. We do not receive or store this data. Their privacy policy applies: ipapi.co/privacy.

When you first visit SpeedTrest, a cookie consent banner will ask for your permission before analytics and advertising cookies are activated. You may withdraw your consent at any time by clearing your browser cookies and re-selecting your preference.
You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
We use Google Analytics 4 (Measurement ID: G-MV6M33LSBY) to collect anonymised usage data. Google may process this data in accordance with their privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy. IP anonymisation is enabled by default in GA4. We do not share this data with third parties.
SpeedTrest displays advertisements served by Google AdSense. Google uses cookies (including the DoubleClick cookie) to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this site or other websites. Users may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting google.com/settings/ads. The speed test uses Cloudflare's measurement infrastructure (speed.cloudflare.com). Cloudflare may collect data in accordance with their privacy policy: cloudflare.com/privacypolicy. This is an integral part of delivering an accurate speed test via their global edge network.
SpeedTrest is hosted on Hostinger. Hostinger processes server-level data in accordance with their privacy policy.

We do not sell, rent, or share personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.
Server log data is retained for up to 30 days for security and operational purposes, then deleted. No speed test results are stored. No user profiles are created.
Depending on your location, you may have rights under data protection law including the right to access data held about you, the right to deletion, and the right to object to processing. As SpeedTrest collects minimal data and does not store personally identifiable information, most of these rights are satisfied by design.

SpeedTrest is a general-purpose utility tool. We do not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13. The tool requires no registration and collects no personal data, making it safe for general use.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of SpeedTrest after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
