A simple, honest speed test. No sign-up required. Just accurate results.
SpeedTrest is a free internet speed testing tool that measures your real-world download speed, upload speed, ping (latency), and jitter. The test runs directly in your browser — no app download required, no account needed.
The testing engine uses Cloudflare's global edge network infrastructure to measure speeds from servers geographically close to you, giving a more accurate picture of real-world performance compared to tests that use a single distant server.
When you run a speed test, SpeedTrest performs three measurements:
Results are shown instantly in Mbps (megabits per second) for speed and milliseconds (ms) for latency metrics.
SpeedTrest does not require you to create an account, does not ask for your email address, and does not sell any data to third parties. Speed test results are not stored on our servers.
Your IP address is used during the test to route traffic through Cloudflare's network — this is technically required for any network speed test. SpeedTrest itself does not store your IP address or test results on our servers. Note that third-party services we use — Google Analytics and Google AdSense — process IP data under their own policies. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
The SpeedTrest blog currently publishes 122+ guides covering ISP-specific speed testing, WiFi optimization, latency troubleshooting and broadband technology across 30+ countries.
Markets covered include the US, UK, France, Germany, Spain, Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia, India, Indonesia, Brazil, Turkey, Bangladesh, Pakistan, South Africa and more. Articles are written to be accurate, jargon-light and genuinely useful for both consumers and technical users.
Every guide on SpeedTrest is produced by the SpeedTrest Editorial Team — a founder-led team that built this tool to deliver honest, ad-free internet speed measurements. We test ISP connections, WiFi hardware and broadband performance first-hand, then write guides that genuinely help readers diagnose and fix real problems.
We write with a focus on factual accuracy and regularly review and update articles to reflect changes in ISP plan offerings, network technology and speed benchmarks. We do not accept paid placements or sponsored content that affects our editorial position.
When we publish speed benchmarks or recommendations, they are based on publicly available data, regulatory filings, and our own network testing. We clearly distinguish between measured data and industry estimates.
SpeedTrest is an independent project dedicated to helping internet users worldwide understand and verify their connection performance. For questions, feedback, corrections, or content partnership enquiries, reach us at hello@speedtrest.com.
